09:12 of Last Video. The “Prosecutor” (Joke about “The prosecution rests” despite not being a criminal case, but whatever. By the power not invested in me by the state of California, I’ll allow that little fantasy.) centered his opening statement regarding Torres performing a surgery she did not fully understand. 06:38 of this video. The snowboarder tells “The Prosecutor” that he knowingly accepted the surgery despite knowing she never performed it before, and that she did a lot of research. The girlfriend also mentioned how Snowboarder didn’t want to come in to the hospital, (I didn’t watch the episode but from the last video it sounded to me, personally, that she had to drag him to the hospital to get looked at, despite being concerned about his career being affected by such a critical surgery.) but still points out that it was completely the hospital’s fault by admission. Admittedly, there are many times I feel worse than usual, but write it off because it may be nothing so long as there’s no serious symptoms like my heart stopping. But not after surgery or a procedure that points out “May lead to these symptoms.”

Omg what a wonderful collaboration, although its a tv show, to have a doctor and a lawyer there talking on their points from their expertise is so wonderful to hear, as a soon to be provider, it's great to hear how these litigation can go.

Objection! Callie would not be able to simply ignore her (malpractice insurance's) lawyer's advice and refuse to settle. Refusing to cooperate with a potential settlement would probably void her malpractice coverage and/or make them step paying for her attorney.

12:32 The only issue I've had with the suicidal ideation question is that once I've been asked, I will immediately be sent to an inpatient facility without being told about it. And it's a court order, so I have no way to get out of it, even if I have family and friends I can stay with to monitor me. I feel like I have no voice at all Like, I know it's cautionary, but damn, it certainly makes me feel less trusting

I watched this episode, from what I understood the manufacturer didn't recall the hip. She contacted an institution that was using the hip in clinical trials and they stopped the trial because of the infection, so it seems the manufacturer was never in the mix.

Okay watching this raised a question for me by the way awesome video I'm a new subscriber because of watching the doctors video part 1 of this but you said that they can negotiate settlements all the way up until the time that the verdict is read by the jury it seems to me that although you don't no with a hundred percent certainty that the jury is going to go one way or another you as a lawyer I'm sure have some idea if not in the 90 percentile of what the jury's going to say I don't know it just seems a little unethical on the plaintiffs part to go through with the trial see if it goes well and then if it doesn't say oh I want to settle well I said on the plaintiffs part but I guess it depends on the situation it could be the defendant who is unethical doing this

Objection: (not really an objection)... The client requests Psych season 1 episode 12 "Cloudy with a Chance of Murder" be 'Real-lawyered.' It's a comedy TV series featuring a 'psychic' detective and in this episode they take a bumbling lawyer as a client to help him with his case in court. Alternatively, take any episode of Psych and rate it for breaking the law, because that would be pretty fun.
